Celebrant Mentoring Sessions

Being a funeral celebrant is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world – but it, at times can be one of the most daunting.

There is so much more to it than writing a script. Even if you have completed a funeral celebrant course, it’s still may feel very daunting and overwhelming and you don’t know where to start. Through my podcast “Deadly Serious Conversations” I am passionate about educating others on how to do death better. I am also passionate about mentoring funeral celebrants to give them the confidence they need to be a wonderful celebrant while lifting the standards of professionalism in the industry.

Whatever stage of your funeral celebrant career you are at, I would love to help you. I am an open book and I’m excited to share and guide through any areas you need help with.

I have been a celebrant for the past 14 years. I have conducted 100’s of funeral and marriage ceremonies. In that time, I have learned so much as a funeral celebrant. I have grown, evolved and changed. I have been invited to speak at celebrant conferences, and the Melbourne Writers Festival. I have attended workshops, and gained experience that I would love to pass onto you. Whether you are just starting out or an establish funeral celebrant, there is a mentoring session suitable for you.

We are invited into family’s lives at their most vulnerable and we owe it to them and ourselves, to be the best we can be.

Being a celebrant can be lonely and isolating so it’s important to surround yourself with people who inspire and support you.

But the road doesn’t have to be a lonely, uphill battle. Why make all the mistakes yourself, when you can find guidance and education from someone who has walked the path you want to walk but knows all the shortcuts and potholes to avoid?

I’m only taking on 1 mentoring session per month. If you are interested in booking, please get in touch via the form below.

What are some possible topics we can talk about?

While I’m a complete open book, here are a few things that we can talk about or include during our time based on what you need:

  • Knowing where to start and what to do next to enter the funeral industry.

  • How to become a caring and professional funeral celebrant

  • The order and structure of the ceremony.

  • Dealing with grieving families

  • Writing an authentic ceremony

  • How to personalise and create sincere & meaningful funerals that reflects the wishes of the family

  • Use of meaningful rituals

  • How to cope with the emotional demands of the job

  • Effective interviewing skills

  • Public speaking & presentation skills.

  • Skills on how to help other speakers at the funeral.

  • Memorial services.

  • Support with difficult or challenging funerals such as a funeral for a baby, a child, someone who has died by suicide, a tragic accident or someone who has been difficult to love, as examples.

  • Interment & scattering of ashes.

  • Tips for providing an amazing Client Experience (from initial enquiry to delivering the ceremony).

  • Instill confidence and reassure you that you are on the right path.

  • Continued support after your mentoring session

And anything else you want to know!

You get to choose which areas you need the most support.

That way our session will be specifically designed to help you get the most out of your time with me.
